The best buys to get you the new LEGO gift-with-purchase sets

With three new LEGO gifts-with-purchase currently available, here are the best buys that will get you all of those promotional freebies.

Over 50 new LEGO models launched online and in stores on March 1, with builds covering such themes as LEGO Star Wars, Marvel, Disney, Harry Potter, Technic, Speed Champions and more. In addition to those potential purchases, the LEGO Group is also offering up a trio of free GWP promotions, with the offers scheduled to run until March 10 (or while stocks last).

If you’re a LEGO Insiders member, all orders of £180 / $200 / €200 will instantly qualify you for 40680 Flower Store, a 337-piece microscale model that is the first in a series of four collectible builds for 2024. To find out more about the GWP set, be sure to check out our full review here.

In addition, purchases of £45 / $50 / €50 and above will receive two polybags, but only when buying LEGO Animal Crossing, City, Creator 3-in-1, DREAMZzz or Friends builds. Don’t forget that 30662 Maple’s Pumpkin Garden and 30635 Beach Cleanup can also be stacked with 40680 Flower Store, if your total order reaches the required threshold for the latter GWP that is.

With all of that mind, here are our recommendations for some of the best LEGO sets to pick up right now to qualify you for the current line-up of free GWP promotions.

LEGO Animal Crossing sets

You’ll need to buy all five LEGO Animal Crossing sets to get 30662 Maple’s Pumpkin Garden and 30635 Beach Cleanup. That won’t quite qualify you for 40680 Flower Store though, so go ahead and add in the recent 76996 Knuckles’ Guardian Mech, another video game-based build, and we won’t tell anyone.

LEGO City sets

A wave of space-based LEGO City sets launched on January 1, with seven models taking the theme into orbit and beyond. Of that current line-up, we’d suggest picking up 60434 Space Base and Rocket Launchpad and 60432 Command Rover and Crane Loader to guarantee you’ll be able to secure all three of those GWPs.

LEGO Creator 3-in-1 sets

Two new LEGO Creator 3-in-1 sets arrived on March 1 in the shape of 31154 Forest Animals: Red Fox and 31158 Sea Animals. Purchasing that pair of models isn’t enough to get you the full trio of current GWP promos, but add in something like the still-available 31109 Pirate Ship from the theme and you’ll be eligible for the whole lot.

LEGO DREAMZzz sets

A fresh batch of LEGO DREAMZzz sets also arrived on January 1, which gives you the chance to combine a few of them together and reach the threshold required for the latest GWPs. Of those models, we’d recommend going for 71477 Sandman’s Tower and top it up with the hulking 71469 Nightmare Shark Ship from the theme’s first wave to reach that sweet spending spot.

LEGO Friends sets

LEGO Friends launched into space this year with 42605 Mars Space Base and Rocket, a unique addition to the theme that’s soon to be joined by the recently revealed 42602 Space Research Rover. The former is on sale now and the latter is already available for pre-order (which counts towards obtaining those current GWPs), so throw in 41713 Olivia’s Space Academy and 42603 Stargazing Camping Vehicle to complete your purchases.
