Better images of LEGO Star Wars 75378 BARC Speeder Escape revealed

Better images of the upcoming LEGO Star Wars 75378 BARC Speeder Escape have surfaced online, offering a closer look at the brand new Kelleran Beq minifigure.

Ahmed Best’s Jedi will be the main draw for many in this LEGO Star Wars The Mandalorian Season 3 set, which otherwise includes a BARC speeder with sidecar, Grogu in his hover pram, two 501st Legion Clone Troopers and… a lamppost. That humorous side build grounds the set on Coruscant, where Kelleran Beq helped Grogu to escape the Jedi Temple during Order 66.

That technically makes this the first-ever LEGO Star Wars set explicitly based on Order 66, and among the first to include any hint of a Coruscant location build. Initial images of 75378 BARC Speeder Escape appeared on Amazon in March, but German retailer JB Spielwaren has now published higher-resolution photos and renders.

These pictures give us a clearer look at Kelleran Beq, who’s armed with both blue and green lightsabers, as well as the two new 501st Legion Clone Troopers, which feature holes for accessories on their helmets for the first time. The pieces themselves aren’t new – they’ve all appeared in previous battle packs in one way or another – but this is the first time they’ve appeared in this configuration.

Grogu is the same as he ever was, but it’s nice to see a version of his hover pram in a set as accessible and affordable as 75378 BARC Speeder Escape. The May 1 release will retail for €29.99 in Europe, so likely $29.99 in the US and £24.99 in the UK, and includes 221 pieces. It will launch alongside 75383 Sith Infiltrator and (according to rumours) a handful of other LEGO Star Wars 2024 sets.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
