Comparing the LEGO Marvel Thor: Love and Thunder sets to the trailer

Now that the trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder is out, we can compare the two upcoming LEGO Marvel sets to their source material.

In case you missed it, the first teaser trailer for Thor: Love and Thunder is now available and both LEGO Marvel models based on the film have been fully revealed. With the film scheduled to release in a few months on July 8, 2022, we can help to pass the time by offering a comparison between these builds and what we see in the trailer, with one being easier to pin down than the other.

76207 Attack on New Asgard

No shadow monsters were seen attacking New Asgard in the trailer, but we can still compare part of 76207 Attack on New Asgard to the trailer thanks to the box art. The background artwork used for 76207 Attack on New Asgard is very similar to the wide shot of the tourist-filled town, complete with cruise ships and a mix of Asgardian and Norwegian architecture.

Whether Gorr and the shadow monster will confront Thor and Mighty Thor in this location has yet to be seen as it appears that the antagonist is being saved for either a later trailer or the film itself.

76208 The Goat Boat

The inspiration for 76208 The Goat Boat is easier to spot in the trailer as the transport can be seen flying away from New Asgard. The twin-headed ship matches what can be found in the LEGO set, though with a notably dark colour scheme.

Both LEGO Marvel Thor: Love and Thunder sets will be available starting April 26 on the official online store and in physical locations with the move arriving later this summer on July 8, 2022.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
