More details on upcoming LEGO 2K Drive bonus content revealed

Content for two Bonus Packs included with special editions of the upcoming LEGO 2K Drive video game has now been revealed in more detail.

Announced earlier today, LEGO 2K Drive will be racing onto consoles and PCs this May, with what looks to be a fun and fast-paced game in the same vein as Nintendo’s Mario Kart. The title is the first licensed LEGO offering from 2K Games, offering players a very different interactive experience compared to previous offerings from the likes of TT Games and Gameloft.

LEGO 2K Drive will have a slightly staggered release, with three versions of the title arriving between May 16 and May 19. Players who opt for the Awesome Edition and Awesome Rivals Edition not only get their copies three days before the release of the Standard Edition, but will also receive plenty of exclusive additional content.

Following on from our earlier report on what will be included with the various versions of LEGO 2K Drive, we now have more details on the digital goodies that will be bundled in with them. As well as early access, the Aquadirt Racer Pack and Year 1 Drive Pass, the Awesome Edition also receives the Awesome Bonus Pack. This extra rewards players with a Wheelie Stunt Driver Minifigure, Machio Beast Vehicle, a Vehicle Flair and 550 Coins, presumably to purchase parts to build custom vehicles.

The LEGO 2K Drive Awesome Rivals Edition then goes one step further. This digital-only version of the game includes all of the above items and also throws in the Awesome Rivals Bonus Pack. Perks in this extra are listed as a combination of characters and vehicles such as Royal Sailor, Royal Outtaliner, Royal People Rover Street Car, Reckless Scorpion Stunt Driver Minifigure and Hamburghini Royale.

LEGO 2K Drive is due to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series S/X, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC on May 19 (Standard Edition), or May 16 (Awesome Edition and Awesome Rivals Edition). Click here to find out more about the game, or here to check out all the various versions and pre-order bonuses.
