Dr. Seuss LEGO Ideas project could benefit from upcoming film

An upcoming The Cat in the Hat movie might be a stroke of luck for an in-review LEGO Ideas Dr. Seuss project, similar to another LEGO Ideas set.

As reported by Deadline, The Cat in the Hat animated film has been announced to be on the way for release in 2025 or 2026. There just so happens to be a Dr. Seuss LEGO Ideas project currently in review from the first 2023 round from user LegoFan_506. This Dr. Seuss model proposes a folding book scene based on The Cat in the Hat too.

There’s nothing to suggest that this could improve the chances of the LEGO Ideas project, but it at least gives the LEGO Group an opportunity for some synergy with enough time for the relevant processes in the next two or three years. However, nothing has been confirmed other than the animated movie itself.

It’s a similar situation to another LEGO Ideas set coming for Hocus Pocus, which was announced to be picked in its review round months before the release of the Hocus Pocus sequel was released. In another stroke of luck for the LEGO Ideas team, there’s now a third Hocus Pocus in the works. However, there’s much more time to spare for the Dr. Seuss set, should the team choose to go that route.

While nothing has been confirmed regarding the first 2023 review, though it is next up following the recent results announcement, you can look forward to The Cat in the Hat animated movie in 2025 or 2026. There are a lot of LEGO Ideas sets currently in production too.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
