Every LEGO set launching on April 1, 2024 – D&D, Batman and more

Another month of brand new LEGO sets is almost here, so here’s a reminder of everything coming our way on April 1 – from Marvel and D&D to Batman and Technic.

After the huge drop that was March 1, April is looking comparatively quiet as far as new LEGO releases are concerned – but there are still a couple of heavy hitters launching to put a significant dent in your LEGO budget. So while you might not be buying as many LEGO sets in April, you probably won’t be spending any less than usual.

From LEGO Batman’s newest curveball to the long-awaited celebration of Dungeons & Dragons’ 50th anniversary, here’s every new LEGO set launching April 1.

LEGO Batman April 2024 sets

76271 Batman: The Animated Series Gotham City is the LEGO Batman team’s surprise response to the question: what would a $300 Batman: The Animated Series LEGO set look like? This isn’t another giant Batmobile or even a huge Batcave, but instead borrows its form factor from the LEGO Art line-up, offering a three-dimensional representation of Gotham City across 4,210 pieces. There are four brand new and (currently) exclusive minifigures in the box, too.

LEGO City April 2024 sets

A couple of new space-focused LEGO sets are dropping on April 1, including one apiece from City and Friends. If you prefer minifigures to mini-dolls, make a beeline for 60439 Space Science Lab, a location-based model that keeps things surprisingly accessible and affordable. This fully-enclosed lab opens up to reveal a detailed interior, and includes two space crew minifigures and one tiny alien.

LEGO Friends April 2024 sets

LEGO Friends’ submission to April 2024’s new space-themed duo heads out of the lab and into unfamiliar terrain with 42602 Space Research Rover. It looks like one of the better rovers the LEGO Group has cooked up in recent years, with a striking and colourful design – topped off with trans-purple Speed Champions windshields – and a distinctive slice of alien terrain.

LEGO Ideas April 2024 sets

This is the big one for April 2024. Grab your dice and roll for initiative and you might just be lucky enough to take home 21348 Dungeons & Dragons: Red Dragon’s Tale on day one, complete with a free Mimic Dice Box gift-with-purchase that’s available exclusively with the 56th LEGO Ideas set until April 7 (or while stocks last).

LEGO Marvel April 2024 sets

The LEGO Group is still churning out buildable figures for those who want them (or just really miss BIONICLE), and the latest pair comes courtesy of Spider-Man: No Way Home. Green Goblin is easily the stand-out here, complete with a buildable glider and looking suitably menacing. Plus, thanks to the multiverse shenanigans of the MCU, this is technically also a Spider-Man (2002) set.

LEGO Technic April 2024 sets

42196 Lamborghini Huracán Tecnica Orange races on to shelves April 1, offering another colourway for the mid-range Lambo that originally launched in lime green last summer. It’s otherwise exactly the same under the hood, but you can’t knock a fresh coat of paint.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
