Formula 1 has confirmed the complete top 10 from last week’s LEGO Minicar Race in a hilarious video showcasing the entire event from the drivers’ onboard cameras.
Ahead of the British Grand Prix last week, the LEGO Group took over the traditional Drivers’ Parade and replaced it with a race featuring all 22 drivers behind the wheel of fully functional LEGO go-karts.
While we already knew Aston Martin’s Fernando Alonso won the race, Formula 1 has now revealed the full top 10, with two of the four active drivers to receive dedicated LEGO sets making the cut.
Esteban Ocon and Valtteri Bottas joined Alonso on the podium, while Lewis Hamilton – one of the drivers with his own set, 43022 Scuderia Ferrari HP Lewis Hamilton Helmet – narrowly missed out on the top three.
Just behind Hamilton was the other LEGO driver to feature in the top 10, Oscar Piastri, who recently received his own build, 43017 McLaren Mastercard F1 Team Oscar Piastri Helmet.
This means neither Charles Leclerc (43014 Scuderia Ferrari HP Charles Leclerc Helmet), nor Lando Norris (43023 McLaren Mastercard F1 Team Lando Norris Helmet), finished inside the top 10.
Lance Stroll, Sergio Perez, Max Verstappen, Liam Lawson, and Isack Hadjar completed the top 10 in a race that sparked plenty of discussion online.
Before the event, Verstappen criticised the idea as childish, while Hamilton said he would not be taking part. In the end, both participated, and the excitement shown by all 22 drivers during the race led to plenty of positive reactions from fans.
The event followed the success of a similar LEGO race held ahead of last year’s Miami Grand Prix. Given the popularity of both events, another LEGO race in 2027 now looks like a strong possibility.
