The LEGO F1 Drivers’ Parade at Silverstone has drawn to a close, and it was just as chaotic as you'd expect after the first LEGO race in Miami.
It was announced earlier this week that all 22 Formula 1 drivers would take part in a second LEGO Drivers' Parade at Silverstone following the successful chaos of the version from Miami, which featured a lower number of larger LEGO cars.
The LEGO Group may have been hoping that more smaller cars would result in less chaos, but that certainly wasn't the case. What started smoothly quickly turned into a mad but fun-filled race around Silverstone.
It appears that every car made it back in one piece this time, with few crashes to note. Instead, most of the drivers decided to take the minicars off the track to get close to fans.
That probably wasn't the idea behind these cars, but it was all part of the fun that the giant LEGO models can provide. It did result in around half of the cars being beached practically immediately, but the drivers didn't seem displeased as they crashed into the gravel trap.

Other examples of dangerous manoeuvres during the race included multiple drivers climbing into one minicar. There was only room for one driver in each car, but when half of them were beached, friends had to get creative.

It ended up being an unforgettable Drivers' Parade, and we'll have to wait and see how the LEGO Group tops this one. We can't imagine the cars can get much smaller.
Fernando Alonso ended up winning the race after a cheeky off-road shortcut on the last turn. Unfortunately, this won't count towards anything in the season of motorsport, but he goes home with bragging rights, at least.
The LEGO F1 minicars are not being sold in set form, unfortunately, but you can find several other F1 sets on shelves right now, including a range of Speed Champions cars for each current team, as well as helmets such as 43022 Scuderia Ferrari HP Lewis Hamilton Helmet.
