First LEGO Friends set in partnership with NASA has launched

The LEGO Group partnership with NASA has now extended to LEGO Friends as 41713 Olivia’s Space Academy launches on the online store today.

NASA branding in LEGO sets stretches as far back as the early days of the LEGOLAND theme, and now the collection of sets has expanded to LEGO Friends as is the first mini-doll model to be made in partnership with NASA.

41713 Olivia’s Space Academy is one of at least two new LEGO Friends sets launching this summer. Educational facilities appear to be a trend for the next range with Olivia attending a Space Academy. While she’s there, she can explore the main building with mission control, a classroom, and an extending walkway onto the shuttle.

The exterior of this building is decorated with a map of the galaxy, using flexible tubes to create rings showcasing the path of the planets and moons around the sun.

It makes for a visually appealing design that helps set it apart from the similar LEGO CITY NASA model – 60351 Rocket Launch Center.

You’ll be able to find 41713 Olivia’s Space Academy on the official online store and in physical retail locations from today, May 1, 2022, with 41714 Andrea’s Theatre School likely to follow this summer.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
