First look at what’s coming in the LEGO Fortnite x Star Wars crossover

A social media teaser gives us our first look at what – or rather who – is coming in the LEGO Fortnite and Star Wars crossover coming next week.

A fresh partnership between LEGO Fortnite and Star Wars has already been teased for May the 4th 2024 but now we’ve got an idea of at least one character who will seemingly feature. In a post to X, LEGO Fortnite has shared a picture of a digital minifigure Chewbacca, along with a speech bubble for how we’d imagine his vocalisations would sound. The post came with the caption: “You tell em’ Chewie,” along with a reminder of the date of when the LEGO Fortnite x Star Wars collaboration is kicking off, May 3.

While this post seemingly confirms Chewie will be on the way, everything else about the LEGO Star Wars Fortnite update is under wraps. Presumably, it will include some new Styles but whether there will be new content, vehicles, or something else remains to be seen. After all, LEGO Fortnite recently received an update adding parts for working vehicles and a flying X-Wing Starfighter quickly appeared.

Some X users in the comments raised concerns that the Star Wars content could be behind a paywall, after the company charged users in-game currency for a few LEGO Fortnite building kits – with mixed reviews. However, there’s been no real evidence to suggest this so far.
