First look at LEGO Harry Potter Collectible Wizard Portraits

A retailer image showing all of the LEGO Harry Potter Collectible Wizard Portraits reveals exactly how many there are – and who is featured.

LEGO Harry Potter is returning to the idea of including tiny collectible tokens in a range of sets throughout 2024, much like 2021’s Collectible Wizard Cards. While this was already known, it wasn’t yet revealed what they would look like or how many there would be – until a listing on Dutch retailer 2TToys‘s website gave us a closer look.

It seems there will be 14 cards, printed on flat angled tiles, rather than having the shape of the card printed on it as in 2021’s range of collectible tokens. There also appears to be far more detail on 2024’s range, compared to the relatively simple images on the purple LEGO Harry Potter collectibles from a few years ago.

Not all of the wizards and witches pictured are easily identifiable, although we believe Rowena Ravenclaw can be found top left, the unruly knight Sir Cadogan two tiles to the right of her, Godric Gryffindor on the top right, Helga Hufflepuff and her cup on the right of the second row, Quidditch player Jokunda Sykes in the middle of the third row, and Salazar Slytherin on the bottom right (the snake is a giveaway).

Otherwise, the witches and wizards are pictured in a variety of poses, from sending an owl to mixing up potions. Within the Wizarding World, famous portraits featured people who had achieved great feats with magic or served wizarding society in some way, so it’s safe to say that each person included here had some role to play within the fictional universe of Harry Potter.

Even without knowing who the people are, there are some fun LEGO-themed Easter eggs included too. For example, the sorrowful-looking wizard in the top row is holding a treasure map that looks like the most recent design for the tiled LEGO map, as seen in a number of sets, including 10320 Eldorado Fortress.

Presumably, there will be more details on exactly who all of the witches and wizards are when the LEGO Harry Potter Collectible Wizard Portraits are officiallly revealed and available to collect. For now, we know that 76426 Hogwarts Castle Boathouse76428 Hagrid’s Hut: An Unexpected Visit and 76430 Hogwarts Castle Owlery will all include the collectible parts and are due for release in March 2024 – with more sure to follow.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.

There’s no snake on Slytherin’s portrait. Am I missing something?
