The five biggest LEGO Architecture sets revealed to date

Following the reveal of 21061 Notre-Dame de Paris, here’s how the model fits in with the five biggest LEGO Architecture sets to date by piece count.

A brand new addition to the LEGO Architecture theme was officially revealed earlier this week, with 21061 Notre-Dame de Paris launching on June 1, 2024 for £199.99 / $229.99 / €229.99. The upcoming 4,383-piece model measures over 33cm high, 22cm wide and 41cm deep, with the build being assembled in the same manner as the actual Parisian cathedral would have been constructed over a number of centuries.

So just how does 21061 Notre-Dame de Paris stack up against similar previous sets from the theme? Check out our list of the five biggest LEGO Architecture models revealed to date by piece count:

5. 21046 Empire State Building – 1,767 pieces

Released in 2019, the long-since retired 21046 Empire State Building offered up a brick-built recreation of the iconic New York skyscraper. Measuring over 35cm in height, the LEGO Architecture set was comprised of 1,767 pieces and featured four highly-detailed facades, the building’s symmetrical curtain wall design and famous art deco antenna tower.

4. 21056 Taj Mahal – 2,022 pieces

Constructed from a grand total of 2,022-pieces, 21056 Taj Mahal remains a stunning LEGO Architecture model since it launched in 2021. The set boasts the building’s familiar main white dome, which can be detached along with the four chhatris, revealing the crypt with tombs of Mumtaz and Shah Jahan inside, a central chamber with two cenotaphs and much more.

3. 21060 Himeji Castle – 2,125 pieces

The LEGO Architecture team headed to Japan for 21060 Himeji Castle, successfully translating the iconic location as a 2,125-piece model. The 2023 set features numerous authentic details including the castle’s turrets, walkways and asymmetric walls, complete with removable roof, surrounding gardens and buildable cherry trees.

2. 21010 Robie House – 2,276 pieces

Making its debut all the way back in 2011, 21010 Robie House was a stunning recreation of one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s most renowned buildings. Featuring a unique architectural style dominated by horizontal lines, the 2,276-piece model has accurate banded rows of window, sloping roofs and an overall colour scheme that matches the brick, wood and limestone of the original location.

1. 21061 Notre-Dame de Paris – 4,383 pieces

Taking the top spot by a massive margin is the recently-revealed 21061 Notre-Dame de Paris. The biggest LEGO Architecture set revealed to date (by piece count), the upcoming 4,383-piece model will take builders on a historical journey through the construction of the cathedral, from the first stone being laid in 1163, up to the look of the Parisian landmark before the devastating fire in 2019.

21061 Notre-Dame de Paris will be released on June 1 priced at £199.99 / $229.99 / €229.99 and you can check out our full review of the LEGO Architecture set right here.
