Five new and exclusive LEGO sets to prioritise with double VIP points

You can currently score double VIP points and a free LEGO City set online and in-store, so here are five new and/or exclusive sets worth prioritising to maximise your savings.

Double VIP points is equivalent to 10% cashback to spend on future purchases, which isn’t typically enough to beat discounts from third-party retailers. But if the set you’re after is only available at LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores (and there are plenty of them), there’s no better time to buy than a double VIP points promo – unless it’s a double VIP points promo with a free gift, that is.

Like right now, for example: until February 20 (or while stocks last), 40582 4×4 Off-Road Ambulance Rescue is free with all orders above £95 / $100 / €100. That deal stacks with double VIP points, so you can extract maximum value from that massive LEGO purchase you’ve had your eye on for the past few weeks or months.

If you don’t already have a wish list to turn to, though, we’ve picked out five sets currently available at LEGO.com that you won’t find a better deal on anywhere else. All five of these sets will also qualify immediately (and individually) for 40582 4×4 Off-Road Ambulance Rescue.

5 – 10312 Jazz Club

Price: £199.99 / $229.99 / €229.99 Pieces: 2,899 VIP points value: £20 / $23 / €23 Available: Now

This year’s LEGO modular building combines two separate businesses – a jazz club and pizzeria – and paints them in a vivid colour scheme, which mixes together dark red, cool yellow and azure. 10312 Jazz Club is packed with details throughout, and – like the rest of the Modular Buildings Collection – offers a build that blends retro brick-stacking with advanced techniques.

4 – 10294 Titanic

Price: £589.99 / $679.99 / €679.99 Pieces: 9,090 VIP points value: £59 / $68 / €68 Available: Now

2021’s enormous ocean liner has still yet to sail to any third-party retailers, so your only option for picking up 10294 Titanic is through the official online store. It commands a hefty price tag, but the promise of 10% of that back in VIP points (and a free LEGO City set) makes this a perfect time to buy.

3 – 10307 Eiffel Tower

Price: £554.99 / $629.99 / €629.99 Pieces: 10,001 VIP points value: £55.50 / $63 / €63 Available: Now

The tallest LEGO set of all time can only be bought through LEGO.com, but like 10294 Titanic, will net you a hefty sum in VIP points at the moment. 10307 Eiffel Tower is also the second-largest LEGO set of all time by piece count (31203 World Map still takes the crown), and is a real statement piece wherever you put it.

2 – 21338 A-Frame Cabin

Price: £159.99 / $179.99 / €179.99 Pieces: 2,082 VIP points value: £16 / $18 / €18 Available: Now

The newest LEGO Ideas set has only just arrived on shelves, but you can already see a pretty good return on it by taking advantage of double LEGO VIP points. 21338 A-Frame Cabin is the brainchild of Italian builder Andrea Lattanzio, transformed into an official LEGO set by a five-strong team of designers in Billund. It’s the cheapest set on this list, but still offers a decent chunk of VIP points – and qualifies for 40582 4×4 Off-Road Ambulance Rescue.

1 – 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle

Price: £344.99 / $399.99 / €399.99 Pieces: 4,514 VIP points value: £34.50 / $40 / €40 Available: Now

Last year’s flagship 90th-anniversary set is still sold exclusively through LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores, so you’re going to have to bite the bullet and pay full price if you want to add 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle to your collection. But you can at least do so while shoring up plenty of VIP points for more LEGO (there will always be more LEGO), and adding a free emergency vehicle to your medieval landscape. If it was good enough for Monty Python…

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
