Five of the most random LEGO March 1 releases
Dozens of new LEGO March 1 sets have launched, and while none of them are unwelcome, some of the launches are more random than others.
From NINJAGO City to Vincent van Gogh, March 1 was an exciting day for LEGO fans worldwide, with several notable releases to pick up. You can click here for a full guide on everything new to LEGO.com and LEGO Stores.
Of these new releases, some stick out from the crowd as odd new sets to launch during March 2025 instead of other times in the year or beyond. That’s not to say that they’re unwelcome, but there are better times to have launched them in 2025 and further out.
60474 F1 Grid with VCARB & Sauber Race Cars

LEGO City 60474 F1 Grid with VCARB & Sauber Race Cars rounds out the original theme’s line of licensed Formula 1 sets with the starting line and the final two cars for the LEGO City collection. These follow the other LEGO City Formula 1 2025 sets from January, and it’s the only odd one out.
Precisely why this LEGO City set was held back from the larger wave is unknown, but it’s still unusual to see just a single set in any collection held back a few months, instead of a couple to more evenly split into equal waves. That’s not the case with 60474 F1 Grid with VCARB & Sauber Race Cars, and you can finish the collection now.
76446 Knight Bus Adventure

Similar to the LEGO City set, 76446 Knight Bus Adventure is the only LEGO Harry Potter model launching in March 2025. It’s far from the first take on the Knight Bus and follows a version of the vehicle from 2019, explaining why it’s time for another version of the unique vehicle.
Still, it’s not easy to see why it wasn’t released alongside the first LEGO Harry Potter 2025 sets in January, especially since it would have tied nicely into the mini Knight Bus in 76444 Diagon Alley Wizarding Shops. For whatever reason, though, it’s available now for $44.99 / $49.99 / €49.99.
77037 Aloy & Varl vs. Shell-Walker & Sawtooth

Arguably, the most random but welcome release for March is 77037 Aloy & Varl vs. Shell-Walker & Sawtooth. The new set is explicitly based on the LEGO Horizon Adventures game as well as the wider Horizon franchise and was launched five months after the LEGO game yesterday.
Despite this gap, 77037 Aloy & Varl vs. Shell-Walker & Sawtooth has the strength of great value behind it, thankfully, with nearly 800 pieces and two unique minifigures for only £39.99 / $44.99 / €44.99.
71837 NINJAGO City Workshops

Upon first glance, 71837 NINJAGO City Workshops‘ launch yesterday wasn’t particularly notable as the date coincided with two other major LEGO NINJAGO sets releasing. When you think about it, though, it would have made a lot more sense to release 71837 NINJAGO City Workshops next year.
2026 will mark the 15th anniversary of LEGO NINJAGO, and while the exact details of the celebrations have yet to be confirmed, we know that there are plans in place. For the 10th anniversary, 71741 NINJAGO City Gardens paid homage to the theme with many desirable minifigures in one of the biggest LEGO NINJAGO sets ever designed.
71837 NINJAGO City Workshops would have fit that brief for 2026, and it seems unlikely that the LEGO Group has plans for another NINJAGO City set next year – aside from the first two models, there’s always been a minimum two-year gap between models in the range. Still, maybe NINJAGO is celebrating 15 years differently than it did for the 10th anniversary. Either way, 71837 NINJAGO City Workshops makes some sense for March and is available now for £219.99 / $249.99 / €249.99.
75429 AT-AT Driver Helmet

The LEGO Star Wars Helmet Collection is back after two years with just 75429 AT-AT Driver Helmet in 2025 so far. While more entries in the range are rumoured for later this year, this is the first time a LEGO Star Wars helmet has been launched alone.
It’s available now for £69.99 / $69.99 / €79.99, with another pair of helmets rumoured for May. Though two are not confirmed, it might have made more sense to launch these three helmets together as a trio – a common occurrence for the collection.
