A space series of LEGO Collectible Minifigures is said to be coming in 2024 and there’s a lot that a Space minifigure collection could cover.
While it has yet to be confirmed, a LEGO Collectible Minifigures space series has been listed on price comparison site brickmerge.de, under set number 71046 and listed for May 2024.
Space is undeniably vague and there are plenty of possibilities for this rumoured LEGO Collectible Minifigures series. From Classic Space to licenses, here are a few things that it could, theoretically, be.
In an ideal world, some of these ideas could be combined into one series, possibly similar to The LEGO Movie 2’s Collectible Minifigures and its collection of The Wizard of Oz minifigures. However, that seems unlikely given that most LEGO Collectible Minifigures collections have focused on just one theme.
5 – Classic Space
Classic Space is one of the first themes that come to mind with the ‘space’ prompt and while Classic Space has been part of LEGO Collectible Minifigures as recently as 71037 Series 24, there’s always room for more colourful astronauts.
4 – Greatest hits of LEGO space
Alternatively, the monochromatic astronauts aren’t the only iconic members of the LEGO Group’s various space themes. Instead, a range mixing the likes of Blacktron, Space Police and more together could be a nostalgic assortment appealing to a wider audience.
3 – NASA
A less fictional take on a LEGO Collectible Minifigures space series could be a NASA collection, building on the various NASA sets including the minifigures in 21312 Women of NASA. Many more historical figures have contributed to our understanding of space and could be minifigures in such a series, though it may be more niche than other options.
2 – A licensed sci-fi theme
Previous themes and franchises untouched by the LEGO Group would suit a space LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series too. From the many iterations and companions of Doctor Who to the crew of the USS Enterprise in Star Trek to even the cast of Dune with a set for the franchise rumoured for later this year.
1 – Star Wars
2024 is the 25th anniversary of Star Wars and there’s no better time for us to finally receive a LEGO Collectible Minifigures based on the property. There are countless options for characters, though exactly how likely this possibility is given the new licence is up for debate.
