Five things we spotted in the LEGO Star Wars summer 2022 sets
With three brand new LEGO Star Wars sets due to arrive in summer 2022, here are five details we’ve already managed to spot.
Thanks to an official reveal, we now know when three new LEGO Star Wars sets will be arriving, as well as piece counts and prices. 40547 Obi-Wan Kenobi & Darth Vader, 75333 Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Jedi Starfighter and 75336 Inquisitor Transport Scythe include new BrickHeadz, unique minifigures and the debut of a ship from the upcoming Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi series on Disney+.
There’s plenty to unpack in the new sets, so here are five things that we’ve already spotted:
New Obi-Wan Kenobi hair piece
It certainly looks as if the former Jedi Master has been neglecting his personal grooming regime, with the Obi-Wan Kenobi minifigure included with 75336 Inquisitor Transport Scythe featuring what looks like an all-new moulded hair piece.
Updated Fifth Brother Inquisitor
This is only the second Fifth Brother Inquisitor minifgure that’s been released to date, with the previous available as part of 75157 Captain Rex’s AT-AT. The version included with 75336 Inquisitor Transport Scythe will also be much cheaper to pick up than the minifgure in the LEGO Star Wars Rebels set.
New printed BrickHeadz piece
40547 Obi-Wan Kenobi & Darth Vader includes a revised design for the Sith Lord BrickHeadz figure. As well as red eye lenses and an updated appearance, the figures also features a new printed chest piece.
Jedi Starfighter stud shooters
Unlike 75191 Jedi Starfighter with Hyperdrive, the previous iteration of the ship, 75333 Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Jedi Starfighter appears to be aimed at a slightly younger LEGO Star Wars audience. The inclusion of dual stud shooters and the simplicity of the build would certainly seem to suggest so.
Plenty of room in the Scythe
75336 Inquisitor Transport Scythe is certainly an imposing black ship, with a few notable features. As well as an opening cockpit, ramp and folding wings, there appears to be plenty of room inside for the Grand Inquisitor, Reva (Third Sister Inquisitor), Fifth Brother Inquisitor and then some.
40547 Obi-Wan Kenobi & Darth Vader, 75333 Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Jedi Starfighter and 75336 Inquisitor Transport Scythe will all be launching on August 1 and the three sets can be pre-ordered from LEGO.com now.
