Has LEGO fixed its gift-with-purchase problem?
Two major LEGO GWPs have become available over the last few weeks and, most importantly, have stayed available.
Between May the 4th and the recent launch of 40767 Up-Scaled Baby Astronaut, some high-profile LEGO GWPs have become available of late, but it hasn’t been the hectic rush LEGO fans have come to expect. During the LEGO Group’s Star Wars Day promotions, only one freebie sold out, with 5009394 Jango Fett’s Starship Key Chain disappearing from the US store after four days.
30708 Millennium Falcon remained in stock in most regions almost to the end of the promotional period, while the main event, 40765 Kamino Training Facility, stayed in stock worldwide right up until May 5. That’s an improvement on 2024, where 40686 Trade Federation Troop Carrier sold out early on May 4.

Some fans were also dismayed to see 40767 Up-Scaled Baby Astronaut billed as a GWP, rather than a straight set that you can buy, partly out of frustration that you need to spend a certain amount to get it, but partly out of fears that it will sell out fast and not be easy to get hold of.
However, it’s been several days since 40767 Up-Scaled Baby Astronaut took off and it’s still in stock in the UK, the US, and Europe. Either fewer people are shopping at LEGO.com than expected over the last few days, or the LEGO Group has gotten better at anticipating stock levels. Whatever the reason, it takes some of the stress out of GWP launches.
Last year saw several GWPs sell out fast, often set-exclusive ones that were tied to the sale of specific sets, but also general ones like Black Friday’s 40699 Retro Record Player. This year has been, comparitvely speaking, more calm when it comes to the launch of new gifts, making it less of a hectic dash to get the promotional sets you want.
If there are any LEGO GWPs that you’ve missed out on over the years, you can still pick some of them up by shopping with third-party retailers like Brick Deals.

I’m surprised they are still in stock, with some people showing off that they have at least 8
