Horizon Forbidden West DLC coming in 2023 as LEGO set is still available

A new DLC for Horizon Forbidden West titled Burning Shores is coming in 2023 as the game’s LEGO set continues to be available.

Coming exclusively to PlayStation 5, despite the game also releasing on PlayStation 4, Burning Shores will take Aloy to the ruins of Los Angeles and Hollywood on April 19, 2023. The decision to release the DLC only on the newer console is due to technical and creative reasons to best achieve the team’s vision.

A trailer for the expansion was revealed at The Game Awards 2022, showcasing cinematic footage of the new location and Aloy riding the flying Sunwing machine above a post-apocalyptic version of the location.

As one of the more surprising releases of 2022, the LEGO Group has a set for Horizon Forbidden West currently available and it appears that it will continue to be on shelves throughout 2023.

Currently no other models based on the game have been confirmed but this new DLC could offer another excuse to pick up 7698 Horizon Forbidden West: Tallneck for anyone who hasn’t done so already. It’s worth noting that the exclusive Aloy minifigure ranked high on our recent list of the best minifigures of 2022

The key art and screenshots include potential inspiration for a future Horizon Forbidden West LEGO set, including the giant Horus machine that comes to life at the end of the trailer. Also on the way is a streaming series set in the Horizon universe.

76989 Horizon Forbidden West: Tallneck is available now with double VIP points on the official online store and 2023 has another model that could be the perfect foundation for a Tremortusk too
