Horizon threequel teased as LEGO Horizon Forbidden West set up for retirement

Guerilla Games have further teased the future of the Horizon franchise as 76989 Horizon Forbidden West: Tallneck approaches retirement.

Horizon: Forbidden West: has just received its Burning Shores DLC expansion, continuing the story and teasing what comes next for Aloy and her allies. For those who have not played the title, there appear to be plans in place for a third game with a formidable enemy.

Developer Guerilla Games may have now confirmed this in a new blog post about changes in management, stating, “We have full confidence in our new leadership as they steer Guerrilla towards a bright future, expanding the world of Horizon with Aloy’s next adventure and our exciting online project.”

With Burning Shores now available, Aloy’s next adventure could be a third game focused on the incoming enemy. A LEGO set based on the sequel – Forbidden West – is available now in the form of 76989 Horizon Forbidden West: Tallneck but it’s currently scheduled to retire later this year.

There’s no confirmation of any future LEGO Horizon models and it’s unlikely that work on Aloy’s next adventure or the online project will be done before 2023 is through, with little update on either in recent months. There’s also the Horizon Netflix series to consider.

With these in mind, 76989 Horizon Forbidden West: Tallneck is available now on the official online store for £79.99 / $89.99 / €89.99, in case the LEGO Group’s collaboration with Guerilla Games stops here. Aloy is already confirmed for the next adventure and her detailed minifigure and unique hair element is exclusive to this set to boot.
