How to motorise LEGO 10273 Haunted House

The LEGO Group has announced 10273 Haunted House, but to really make the set fun, fans will need to use Powered Up! components.

LEGO 10273 Haunted House is coming on May 20. The creepy location is actually a fairground attraction, with a drop ride hidden within the building. To really get the best use of the set though, fans will need a couple of Powered Up! components and a smart phone.

Downloading the free Powered Up! app is simple enough. Fans will also need to purchase two 88008 Medium Linear Motors and 88009 Hub. These two extra functional elements will allow the ride to operate much more realistically, but with items going out of stock at LEGO.com, may run out if 10273 Haunted House proves popular. The two pieces are also compatible with other sets.

Instructions within the set detail how to remove a few bricks and add in these special Powered Up! components instead. The associated app is specially themed, so operating the set will feel like actually operating an amusement park attraction.

10273 Haunted House will launch on May 20.
