Measuring 32cm long, 16cm tall and 8cm wide, 42107 Ducati Panigale V4 R falls squarely into the realm of affordable and space-friendly LEGO Technic builds. But it’s not short on details for its price: as well as accurate body shaping and a vivid colour scheme, you’ll find a turning front wheel, front and rear disc brakes, a kickstand, exhaust pipe and dashboard all packed into the model.

And that’s before we get to the functions proper, which are anchored around a two-speed gearbox that activates the V4-cylinder engine. The bike’s side panels can easily detach to get a proper look at its guts even after it’s built (surpassing the squirrelled-away interior of much larger and more expensive Technic sets), while the entire model sits on a Ducati racing stand.

Not all LEGO Technic sets manage to strike such a fine balance between function and form, but it’s a quality we can easily attribute to 42107 Ducati Panigale V4 R. The 646-piece model is due to retire by the end of 2023, so grab it while the going’s good.

Head over to Zavvi to buy 42107 Ducati Panigale V4 R for just £44.99.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
