More images of LEGO Star Wars 75398 C-3PO confirm the set’s scale

A third-party retailer listing for LEGO Star Wars 75398 C-3PO has confirmed the size of the upcoming set, answering the number one question on everyone’s minds.

Images published by French retailer E.Leclerc have revealed the exact size of 75398 C-3PO, standing at 38cm high. That helps us to answer the long-standing question of whether it will be at the same scale as its obvious companion set, 75379 R2-D2. It also offers a closer look at the LEGO Star Wars set in situ, standing on a round base and coming complete with an information plaque and Threepio minifigure to boot.

With 75379 R2-D2 standing at around 24cm high, that puts 75398 C-3PO around 1.6 times bigger than the first LEGO Star Wars droid. Looking at the on-screen versions of the characters, Threepio stood at 1.75 metres, while Artoo was 1.09m. That’s almost exactly the same scale, meaning the LEGO Star Wars team have knocked it out of the park if you want to display the two side by side, as many had hoped.

While we can’t display both side by side just yet, when 75398 C-3PO comes out on August 1, there’s a perfect spot in your LEGO Star Wars collection for the new entry.
