Indiana Jones TV series rumoured to be in development at Disney+

A new entertainment industry report reveals that Disney+ is actively seeking to develop an Indiana Jones TV series for the streaming service.

Indiana Jones fans have a lot to look forward to starting next year. As well as the upcoming (and still untitled) fifth big screen adventure featuring Harrison Ford’s final outing as the globetrotting archaeologist and adventurer, recent rumours suggest that LEGO sets based on the franchise may also be making a long overdue return in 2023.

Now Variety is reporting that Disney+ is in the very early stages of actively looking to develop an Indiana Jones TV show. According to the report, Disney and Lucasfilm have been discussing the possibility of a series based in the world of the iconic character at meetings with various writers. No details have yet been revealed regarding who may be cracking the whip as a creator on any such potential show or what the plot may be. A prequel show or movie spinoff may certainly be a possibility though, similar to the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles TV series that aired in the early 90s.

A recent rumour suggests that at least eight LEGO Indiana Jones sets may be arriving at some point in 2023, based on the existing four films and the upcoming fifth movie. However, this is all pure speculation for now and there’s been no confirmation from the LEGO Group whatsoever regarding the existence of the theme or sets.
