Kraven the Hunter Marvel film poster and trailer revealed

The first trailer and poster for Sony’s Kraven the Hunter film adds a twist to the Marvel villain while keeping the classic costume.

Coming to cinemas in October, Kraven the Hunter is next up for a Spider-Man-adjacent movie, focusing on the villain but introducing an interesting twist.

The plot focuses on the titular character as he goes after his father and a list of people, using superhuman abilities to hunt them down. It’s considerably gore-filled, similar to the Venom franchise, which received a pair of looser tie-in LEGO sets.

In the comics, Kraven’s superhuman abilities are given to him through herbal potions including enhanced strength, speed, agility, stamina, and longevity.

It appears that in the Sony film, these powers appear thanks to a drop of blood from a lion. Kraven is more of an anti-hero than a villain in the film, hunting down bad people, but using not-so-great methods.

An exact release date has not yet been revealed, but a poster for the movie has been revealed alongside the trailer.

Only one LEGO Kraven the Hunter minifigure exists at the time of writing, featured in 76057 Spider-Man: Web Warriors Ultimate Bridge Battle from 2016.

Currently, the minifigure is available on BrickLink for an average of £34.11 new. Whether this will be affected by Aaron Taylor-Johnson’s upcoming movie has yet to be seen.

Kraven is also one of the main villains in the upcoming Spider-Man PlayStation sequel – it’s a good year for fans of the character.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
