Last chance for free Christmas delivery at LEGO.com

Time is rapidly running out to secure free delivery in time for Christmas at LEGO.com in the UK and US, with only hours to go before you’ll need to pony up for express delivery.

Whether you’re still Christmas shopping or just want to ensure there’s a present that rattles under your tree, you’ll need to place your order at LEGO.com before 11pm GMT or 12pm EST today (December 19) in the UK and US respectively to qualify for free standard delivery in time for Christmas. Your order total will still need to meet the minimum thresholds for free shipping, at £50 or $35.

If your order comes in under that total, it will still arrive in time for Christmas with standard delivery (you’ll just have to pay delivery fees). But if you wait until after those cut-off times, you’ll need to pay for express delivery to ensure your LEGO comes in time for the big day. And even then, you’ve only got two extra days to play with: the deadline for express shipping in time for Xmas is December 21, at 8pm GMT in the UK and 12pm EST in the US.

The LEGO Group is hoping to tempt a few last-minute festive orders with a couple of freebies up for grabs right now, including one returning and one brand new gift-with-purchase. 40610 Winter Fun Add-On Pack is free with orders above £45 / $50 / €50, while 40599 Houses of the World 4 is once again free with purchases above £220 / $250 / €250. Reaching the higher spend will qualify for both gifts and free standard delivery.

Both of those freebies are available until December 24 (or while stocks last), but you can only guarantee getting them in time for Christmas by meeting the delivery deadlines in the table below. Note that the deadlines have already passed in some countries, where your only option now – if it remains at all – is to cough up for express delivery.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
