Last chance to buy retiring LEGO Creator Expert set

Time is running out to pick up LEGO Creator Expert 10262 James Bond Aston Martin DB5, as the gadget-laden car has apparently left production lines.

Promobricks reports that once the current stock of 2018’s 10262 James Bond Aston Martin DB5 sells out, no more will be made available to buy. That tallies with Brick Fanaticsown sources, which state that the 1,290-piece set will retire by the end of 2021.

Depending on how much inventory the LEGO Group has left to shift, it could stick around for a few months yet – its official exit date is December 31 – or it could be gone by next week. The only certainty right now is that if you’ve had your eye on 10262 James Bond Aston Martin DB5 for a while, this is the time to pull the trigger.

And even if you do already own 10262 James Bond Aston Martin DB5, chances are good that its value will rise pretty steadily on the aftermarket – most Creator Expert sets enjoy the same post-retirement boon, and this will likely be the one and only James Bond set the LEGO Group ever produces – so an extra copy could make for a pretty solid investment.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
