Latest LEGO Ideas 10K member gives Monet a run for his money

Another fan-made LEGO Ideas project has soared past 10,000 supporters in the second review round of the year – but might be better suited to the LEGO Art theme.

First-time member of the 10K Club, HunshuiMOYU‘s submission based on Monet’s Impression, Sunrise will enter the LEGO Ideas theme if successful, but is perhaps more closely aligned with LEGO Art sets like 31208 Hokusai – The Great Wave. Of course, they’re in good company, with 21333 Vincent van Gogh – The Starry Night paving the way in LEGO Ideas already.

Monet is a tricky painter to recreate with LEGO bricks, with HunshuiMOYU’s version featuring more distinct shapes and colours than the French painter’s impressionist style. Nonetheless, the same muted colour scheme has been translated into an undeniably good-looking suggested set.

The future of Impression Sunrise – Monet now lies in the hands of the LEGO Ideas team, joining just three other sets in the review round at this early stage. Check out our list as a reminder of what’s made it past the all-important 10,000 supporter mark so far, since the first review round of 2024 closed.

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
