How does LEGO 10350 Tudor Corner’s medieval design fit on the street?

LEGO 10350 Tudor Corner stands out from the other modular buildings with its medieval design and the designers came up with a fitting solution.

Following its release at the start of the month, 10350 Tudor Corner has been added to various modular building displays across the community. Its design is undeniably different and distinctly British compared to the other buildings but thanks to a small but notable part of the build, it still manages to fit.

Early reactions to the set included comments about the (intentional) medieval aesthetic of the building compared to the rest of the collection, which has been considerably less Tudor-inspired up to this point. There’s no escaping such connections when approaching the Tudor style but thankfully, the LEGO designers had a plan to help this building fit in on your street.

As well as designing 10350 Tudor Corner to fit in a specific spot in the collection, the solution for the 2025 modular building was to add a more standard-looking building to the side of the set for a smoother transition between areas of the street.

“To give a little more variety to the medieval aesthetic of the building, we wanted a side that was more fitting compared to the other buildings in the modular line,” says François Zapf, pointing out the blue building featuring the Haberdashery speaking to Zusammengebaut.

The LEGO designers weren’t afraid of embracing this building’s differences next to the rest of the range though, even affecting the build experience of 10350 Tudor Corner.

“We were talking about build flow and building experience and usually when you’re building modular buildings, you build some furniture to place in and go on with the long steps of putting pieces on the building,” said Zapf to Tiago Catarino. “In 10350 Tudor Corner, there are a lot of sub-models and you’re building chunks of wall and you connect it all separately. It’s not boring at all, super fun and it’s a different building experience.”

There’s no denying that 10350 Tudor Corner is a different modular building. By embracing what makes it unique while allowing for a smoother transition into the rest of the street via the haberdashery, the design team have ensured that the latest entry in the collection is to be just as welcome by fans as any other modular building.

10350 Tudor Corner is available now for £199.99 / $229.99 / €229.99 and orders made before tomorrow’s end will receive a free 40707 Year of the Snake. Click here to read our in-depth review.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
