No sets were harmed in the making of this LEGO 11021 90 Years of Play trailer

The first 90th anniversary LEGO set, 11021 90 Years of Play has received a brand new trailer that compresses classic sets into the upcoming model.

For those who’ve been waiting to watch a selection of old LEGO sets be crushed, the new trailer for 11021 90 Years of Play might be for you. LEGO designer George Gilliatt features in the video, which was revealed on social media.

The Classic set was already unveiled officially at the start of the month but the trailer acts as a way to introduce and explain the concept behind the included miniature model recreations.

You can expect to find 11021 90 Years of Play in stores and online from May 1 for £44.99 / €49.99 / $49.99. It features 1,100 pieces, some of which can be used to construct small depictions of sets released over the past 90 years of the LEGO Group.

Thankfully, the end of the trailer reveals that no sets were harmed in the making of the video as the featured boxes were just recreations, instead of genuine builds from the LEGO Group’s archives.

Themes referenced in 11021 90 Years of Play include NINJAGO, Fabuland and even BIONICLE, the latter of which has led to some creative reactions from the community.
