LEGO 2K Drive physical gift-with-purchase revealed

The Awesome Edition of the newly-announced LEGO 2K Drive video game will include a physical gift-with-purchase, offering a 3-in-1 LEGO model of the game’s pre-order bonus.

All pre-orders of LEGO 2K Drive – unveiled today by 2K Games – will receive a bonus Aquadirt Racer Pack, with a new transforming vehicle to race in-game. And the physical version of the Awesome Edition, which also includes a bunch of additional digital content and the game’s season pass, will come with an exclusive physical model of the Aquadirt Racer.

Just like the virtual vehicle, the buildable model includes pieces to transform it into three different configurations, ready to drive on the street, off-road or on water. Switching between those modes won’t be quite as instantaneous as it is in the game – check out our hands-on preview for more on that – but it feels like an appropriate bonus for a title built around traversing different terrains.

LEGO 2K Drive is an open-world racing game that will allow players to compete in races, tackle challenges and collect new parts, cars and characters across multiple biomes. You can play solo or join up to six friends online for competitive and co-operative multiplayer, or grab a second controller for two-player local split-screen. The game is available to pre-order on PlayStation 5, Xbox One Series S/X, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
