LEGO 2K Goooal! platforms confirmed via game ratings

Everything we know about the rumoured LEGO football game comes via classification ratings – including which platforms it will be available on.

While South Korean ratings gave us our first inkling of the title, LEGO 2K Gooal!, the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee has now revealed which platforms the game will be available to play on. The upcoming football game is part of a multi-game partnership between the LEGO Group and 2K, with plans for a third game focusing on another sport to follow.

Much like LEGO 2K Drive, the football-based sequel will be available to play PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The fact that it’s been rated for all of these platforms means that there must be enough content for it to be workable on them all, suggesting a release date shouldn’t be too far off.

Indeed, if the plan is to pair the game with the start of the English football season in mid-August, then we’d expect to see news in the coming week. However, there’s no guarantee that this is the plan – only that it seems to be a smart way to go, to capitalise on football fever, as EA Sports FC does. On the other hand, FIFA’s annual games tend to come out around the end of September to the middle of October, so there’s a precedent for football games being released slightly later as well.

Nonetheless, the fact that at least two game ratings boards have now had their hands on the games would suggest that at least an official reveal could be on its way very soon.
