LEGO 40685 Water Park gift-with-purchase officially revealed

The LEGO Group has published official images of 40685 Water Park, an upcoming gift-with-purchase in the same wheelhouse as last year’s 40589 Pirate Ship Playground.

First revealed via the LEGO Group’s product certification page last week, the 132-piece boxed gift-with-purchase is now live on LEGO.com in the US, along with more details and higher-resolution images. The 7+ set is framed around two water slides, and includes a snack bar, diving board, shower, tipping barrel with trans-blue elements to represent water and two child minifigures.

Accessories include a hairbrush, sandwich, bottle of suntan lotion and a life buoy, for a set that has more going on than it appears at first glance. It fits into the same template as 2023’s 40589 Pirate Ship Playground, which was originally available from May 22 to June 3, and 2022’s 40529 Children’s Amusement Park. Both of those sets also include two young minifigures enjoying a fun day out.

While we don’t yet have any concrete details on when 40685 Water Park will be available, sometime this month feels like a safe bet given the timing of this reveal. 40589 Pirate Ship Playground only required a purchase of at least £95 / $100 / €100 in May 2023, so fingers crossed 40685 Water Park comes in at a similarly accessible threshold.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
