LEGO Disney 43222 Disney Castle might have included more minifigures

A previous rumour suggested that the upcoming LEGO Disney 43222 Disney Castle might have included more than just eight minifigures.

43222 Disney Castle was officially announced yesterday, with the curtain being pulled back for a full reveal of the LEGO Disney set. The model is due to launch for VIPs on July 1, with everyone else getting the chance to pick up the build on July 4. 43222 Disney Castle will come with 4,837 pieces and be priced at £344.99 / $399.99 / €399.99.

In addition to being a reimagining of 71040 The Disney Castle, one that contains all kinds of nods to classic animation, the LEGO Disney set also includes eight minifigures – some of which are exclusive to the model. Fans can therefore soon look forward to adding Cinderella, Prince Charming, Snow White, Prince Florian, Princess Tiana, Prince Naveen, Rapunzel and Flynn Ryder to their collections.

However, a previous rumour surrounding the build suggested that number could have been even higher. The original story speculated that a total of 12 characters would be available with 43222 Disney Castle, although that ultimately didn’t prove to be the case. No details were ever forthcoming as to who those additional minifigures might have been, but we had a few suggestions of our own for a number of princes and princesses that would have been a good fit.

43222 Disney Castle launches on July 1 for VIP members for £344.99 / $399.99 / €399.99, before getting a wide release at LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores on July 4. You can find out more about the upcoming LEGO Disney set by checking out our visual guide and gallery here.
