LEGO 5007869 Tape Player VIP set revealed
A possible new LEGO VIP reward has been revealed as 5007869 Tape Player looks set to continue exploring the concept of brick-built gadgets.
Over on the LEGO Group’s Certification page on LEGO.com, documents for 5007869 Tape Player have been added with an image of the upcoming model.
Based on the render, product number and the presence of LEGO VIP in the certification document, this seems likely to be a future VIP reward.
It wouldn’t be the first time that an item recreation has been offered as a LEGO VIP reward as for the LEGO VIP Weekend in 2021, a brick-built Vintage Camera was offered for 2,000 points each. That preceded an upcoming LEGO Ideas camera.
Notably, this build also has a connection to LEGO Ideas as it appears to be similar to the LEGO Ideas Sony Walkman project that was not approved in the second 2022 review. However, the VIP model isn’t quite as big and appears to be at the same scale as the VIP Vintage Camera.
Exactly when and how 5007869 Tape Player will be available has yet to be confirmed, though its sudden appearance on the Certification could see it added to the online store fully soon, based on previous sets revealed via the page.
