LEGO 71741 NINJAGO City Gardens US price revealed

A LEGO catalogue has revealed the US price of the upcoming LEGO NINJAGO set 71741 NINJAGO City Gardens.

Details are slowly coming through on the 5,685-piece set ahead of its full reveal, which is presumably scheduled for some time between now and January 14, when the enormous expansion to 70620 NINJAGO City and 70657 NINJAGO City Docks will launch for VIP members.

The Canadian LEGO catalogue brought us the first images of the set and its many minifigures in December, along with the retail price in Canadian dollars. Instagram user luma208_lego now has a copy of the newest US LEGO catalogue in hand, revealing how much US fans will have to pay for 71741 NINJAGO City Gardens.

While a potential price point of $349.99 has been floating around for the past few days, the catalogue confirms the direct-to-consumer NINJAGO set will be just $299.99 in the US. We’re still waiting to see how much it will cost in the UK, but that US price tag suggests we could expect something in the region of £269.99, matching 2017’s 70620 NINJAGO City.

With nearly 6,000 pieces and 19 minifigures (plus Master Wu’s pooch) in the box, that represents astonishingly good value on paper. But we won’t know whether 71741 NINJAGO City Gardens is truly worth whatever price tag it ends up with until we have it in hand – which, given its imminent release, shouldn’t be too far away. According to the Canadian catalogue, the set will launch on January 14 for VIP members, and February 1 for everyone else.

We’ll keep you updated on 71741 NINJAGO City Gardens as we learn more. For now, you can check out 10 things we’ve spotted in the enthralling set just from those early catalogue images.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
