LEGO April 2026 sets: everything you need to know before you buy
A handful of new LEGO sets are hitting shelves across April, but where is your budget best served? Here’s everything you need to know before you buy…
With the annual March madness firmly in the rearview mirror, April is a comparatively quieter month for LEGO releases, and even those sets that are coming are split between the beginning and end of the month. But it’s very much a case of quality over quantity, with several flagship releases to choose from under the Super Mario, Ideas and Icons banners, alongside a full wave of Star Wars sets.
Here’s a closer look at each set in turn, with input from Brick Fanatics’ staffers and the wider community, to help tailor your April shopping list…
11378 Douglas DC-3 Commercial Aircraft
Theme: Icons Price: £199.99 / $219.99 / €219.99 Pieces: 1,903 Release date: April 1, 2026

LEGO and aviation have gone hand in hand (or should that be brick in wing?) for years, culminating for now in 11378 Douglas DC-3 Commercial Aircraft. The 1,903-piece aircraft model represents an iconic plane, which you may recognise from Indiana Jones. There’s no whip-wielding adventurer here, though: the only minifigures are a full flight crew with an exclusive element and printing between them. The £199.99 / $219.99 / €219.99 set will land on shelves soon.
What are people saying?
Advance reviews of LEGO Icons 11378 Douglas DC-3 Commercial Aircraft don’t seem to be hitting any turbulence. The set has left a good impression, from its functionality to the interior details.
“11378 Douglas DC-3 PAN AM Airliner reminds me very much of 21309 NASA Apollo Saturn V and 10283 NASA Space Shuttle Discovery, not only because of the shared aviation focus, but because all three are almost faultless sets.”
Brickset

Impressions of the set from fans are a mix of excitement and curiosity too, with few complaints overall. One user on Reddit is full of nostalgia after seeing the set.
“Definitely getting this. My grandfather was a C-47 pilot (same plane, military configuration), and I was on the last commercial flight the DC-3 made between Marathon and Miami a million years ago. I remember that hiking up the alley was like climbing a mountain as a kid. This set hits all the feels for me.”

| A faithful homage to an iconic aircraft | There are some minor inaccuracies due to the nature of LEGO pieces |

Our verdict: The latest LEGO Icons aircraft model to land on shelves looks likely to be a home run with fans, thanks in no small part to some excellent minifigures.
40878 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Figures
Theme: BrickHeadz Price: £34.99 / $39.99 / €39.99 Pieces: 567 Release date: April 1, 2026

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are back in the LEGO portfolio. They’re only a quartet of BrickHeadz for now, but this is a hopeful sign that the partnership is underway once more. For now, Donny, Raph, Leo and Mikey are all represented in 40878 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Figures. The 567-piece model depicts the four characters with designs inspired by their various appearances over the years. At £34.99 / $39.99 / €39.99, these BrickHeadz continue the theme’s mission to cover every corner of pop culture.
What are people saying?
Early impressions of the TMNT BrickHeadz were almost entirely focused on one aspect – the colour scheme. Fans can’t seem to agree on whether they love the unusual hues of the turtles, especially Mikey. For some, this is down to nostalgia.
“Interesting. I was hoping for a more vintage Ninja Turtles variant, maybe the brighter/lime green versions from the animated series from the 1980s/90s.”
C3 Creations

Others are more intrigued by this decision, embracing the oddity and the unique style of the BrickHeadz caricatures.
“These are so good, they translate so well into BrickHeadz. It’s been so long since I’ve been impressed by a BrickHeadz set. Love how they’re all different shades of green too.”

Our verdict: A hopeful sign that more LEGO TMNT is on the way, but good for now as long as you’re embracing the unusual colours.
21367 Tintin Moon Rocket
Theme: Ideas Price: £139.99 / $159.99 / €159.99 Pieces: 1,283 Release date: April 1, 2026

Belgian cartoonist Hergé’s boy detective finally arrives as a LEGO Ideas set in the shape of 21367 Tintin Moon Rocket, a 1,283-piece set designed by Alexis Dos Santo (aka TKel86) that blasts off on April 1 for £139.99 / $159.99 / €159.99. The visually-impressive model features a brick-built version of the red-and-white vehicle that appeared in both Destination Moon and Explorers on the Moon, as well as minifigures of Tintin, Captain Haddock, Professor Calculus, Thomson and Thompson, and a Snowy figure, all in their orange spacesuits.
What are people saying?
Reviews of 21367 Tintin Moon Rocket have been almost universally positive, with the striking curves of the ship drawing plenty of praise, as well as the minifigure selection included in the LEGO Ideas set. A few minor omissions have been picked up on (such as no space helmet for Snowy), but the general consensus seems to be that this is yet another surefire seller for the fan-designed theme.
“LEGO Ideas has been as smart in its decision-making for 21367 as it has in its design, and the end result is a perfect tribute to a classic comic series from the 20th century, and an enjoyable LEGO set that Tintin fans will love.:
Brick Fanatics

In addition, 21367 Tintin Moon Rocket also boasts some interesting new elements and recoloured pieces, which should hopefully appear in other LEGO sets at some point. While a few fans may quibble at the lack of interior space to be found inside the LEGO Ideas set, that’s ultimately down to the unique construction of the comic book build.
“There will be some who will complain that a new mould was created for the nose cone, but it also meant that the little nod to the cockpit was also achievable, something that would have been tricky with a brick-built cone and internal structure. The cone is also very much within LEGO System and a great addition to the existing smaller version.”
New Elementary
The jury’s still out on whether or not we’ll get to see more LEGO Tintin models at some point down the line, but for now the LEGO Ideas team has another winner on its hands. Boasting a spot-on design, an exceptional minifigure line-up and an instantly recognisable look, 21367 Tintin Moon Rocket proves itself to be a must-have display model. – Matt
| 21367 Tintin Moon Rocket pros | 21367 Tintin Moon Rocket cons |
|---|---|
| Sleek and accurate design | Snowy is missing his own space helmet |
| Excellent minifigure selection | Limited interior inside the spaceship |
| A must-have display set | A couple of comic book minifigures are MIA |
Our verdict: An essential LEGO Ideas set that deserves a place in every Tintin fan’s collection.
75460 New Republic X-Wing Starfighter
Theme: Star Wars Price: £59.99 / $69.99 / €69.99 Pieces: 558 Release date: April 1, 2026

Who among us doesn’t yet have a LEGO Star Wars X-wing in our collections? It’s been pretty hard to avoid them these past 27 years, and especially lately, but here comes another one asking for a wedge of your LEGO budget. At least this time we’ve moved on from Red Five’s X-wing to a new livery thanks to The Mandalorian & Grogu, so if nothing else you can add a little variety to your rebel (sorry, New Republic) fleet.
What are people saying?
X-wing fatigue aside, 75460 New Republic X-wing Starfighter seems to be going down pretty well among LEGO Star Wars collectors. High notes include the design, which builds on the downsized version of the ship from 2021 in all the right ways for an affordable X-wing that still looks the part.
“This is actually a pretty good-looking X-wing, especially for the $70 price point. This is an improvement over the last one we got, the normal X-wing that was $50. It looks to be a little bit more built out. I like everything I’m seeing here. Probably the only thing I could nitpick is the stud launchers but it looks to be fairly easy to remove those.”
Solid Brix Studios

As you’d imagine, the minifigures are also proving to be a draw here – particularly fan-favourite pilot Carson Teva, who makes his LEGO Star Wars debut in 75460 New Republic X-wing Starfighter.
“Great to get [Carson Teva] as a minifigure. Hope we get some of the other pilots from Mando and other shows at some point. Maybe in a fun little battle pack-sized set with some stuff to go with the new X-Wing, like some ladders to climb into the cockpit.”
G1Yang2001, reddit
The 558-piece model also includes Colonel Ward in her pilot fatigues and a green New Republic astromech droid, and while it’s not the most comprehensive minifigure line-up it’s still pretty compelling. Between that and the revamped colour scheme, this one should find its way into more collections than another run-of-the-mill Luke’s X-wing. – Chris
| 75460 New Republic X-Wing Starfighter pros | 75460 New Republic X-Wing Starfighter cons |
|---|---|
| Fresh colour scheme for a LEGO X-wing | Imagine a world in which we still got A, B or Y-wings |
| Hits the sweet spot between play and display | Could stand to be a little cheaper |
| Decent minifigure line-up |
Our verdict: Probably the best X-wing yet at this scale, so an easy purchase if you somehow don’t yet own a LEGO X-wing.
72050 Luigi & Mach 8
Theme: Super Mario Price: £159.99 / $179.99 / €179.99 Pieces: 2,234 Release date: April 1, 2026

If you ask us (and by virtue of reading this guide you are), 72037 Mario & Standard Kart was one of the best LEGO sets of 2025 full stop. It’s with some anticipation then that the LEGO Super Mario team has immediately followed it up with another kart to race alongside it – but it gives 72050 Luigi & Mach 8 pretty big shoes to fill. Is this another podium-worthy racer, or will Luigi be left in the dust?
What are people saying?
Good news: initial indications are that the LEGO designers have done it again, building on Mario and his kart with another pitch-perfect rendition of a Nintendo character with what’s probably the second-most iconic racer in the game. The building experience alone sounds on a par with the incredible feat of engineering that was 72037 Mario & Standard Kart, while the price tag is apparently quite fair too.
“The shaping of this kart is superbly executed, and the charm of Luigi builds on Mario’s foundation. The persuasive power of Nintendo got us more recolours necessary for seamless detailing; considering this, the price per piece is good, although balanced by the lack of any minifigures.”
Brickset

There’s still one point of contention that’s actually a hangover from Mario, though: like his bro, Luigi cannot be rebuilt to stand independently of his kart, so he’ll only ever be displayed in an awkward sitting position whether he’s in the Mach 8 or out of it (short of a little customisation, of course).
“There are no instructions or anything to actually have him standing, and I think that would have been a major improvement. Including extra parts to do that, like we saw with Gizmo, would have gone a really long way. I know that’s something people wanted for Mario from last year.”
Ashnflash
Given 72050 Luigi & Mach 8 is a Mario Kart set first and foremost, though, that probably won’t be a dealbreaker for many: you’re going to want to display Luigi on his kart. If you already have Mario this is probably a day one purchase, and if you don’t? Well, good luck trying to choose between the two. – Chris
| 72050 Luigi & Mach 8 pros | 72050 Luigi & Mach 8 cons |
|---|---|
| Another incredible building experience | Luigi still can’t stand independently |
| Captures the source material pretty much perfectly | That’s about it really |
| Pairs nicely with Mario at a reasonable price |
Our verdict: Another home run for the LEGO Super Mario theme, which follows up one of the best sets of 2025 with a near-perfect partner.
75445 Anzellan Starship
Theme: Star Wars Price: £64.99 / $74.99 / €74.99 Pieces: 701 Release date: April 26, 2026

The most unusual of the new The Mandalorian and Grogu movie models has to be 75445 Anzellan Starship. With 701 pieces and no minifigures for £64.99 / $74.99 / €74.99, it’s an odd concept, but that might be the point. While LEGO Star Wars is no stranger to massive starships with hefty interior spaces, these require extensive budgets and piece counts. By choosing to depict a ship scaled to the Anzellans, the LEGO Group can make a smaller ship that is just as detailed – but on a smaller scale. It’s a bold tactic, and we shall see whether it pays off when this set is released on April 26.
What are people saying?
The community has understandably been focused on the rest of the Mandalorian and Grogu movie models following their reveal. There are some discussions regarding 75445 Anzellan Starship, with many interested in the sheer novelty of the concept.
“A spaceship built to scale around baby-sized characters is novel enough that I’ll probably pick that one up.”
Hugglemorris

Other fans have had to take a second look at the model since its reveal to amend their initial opinions.
“I feel mixed about this ship, I mean, when I first saw it [it] looked like a random collection of tiles, jumper plates, and greebling pieces. Then I actually looked at it and now I am impressed. I might get it just for those golden B1 legs though.”
MOCTrooper
The impressions from the community regarding 75445 Anzellan Starship are a varied mix of confusion and curiosity, which is to be expected of such a novel concept. – Jack
| 75445 Anzellan Starship pros | 75445 Anzellan Starship cons |
|---|---|
| Unlike anything from LEGO Star Wars before | The concept will be difficult for some to accept |
| Lots of Anzellan figures | Lack of regular minifigures detracts value |
Our verdict: 75445 Anzellan Starship risks being overlooked as an odd concept for LEGO Star Wars, but anything new in the theme is inherently interesting.
75446 Grogu (Mandalorian Apprentice)
Theme: Star Wars Price: £119.99 / $129.99 / €129.99 Pieces: 1,200 Release date: April 26, 2026

The first Star Wars movie in nearly six years will be hitting the big screen in 2026, with The Mandalorian and Grogu making the leap from Disney+ to cinemas around the world. Ahead of the film comes a first wave of accompanying sets, among which is 75446 Grogu (Mandalorian Apprentice), a 1,200-piece buildable figure of the youngling priced at £119.99 / $129.99 / €129.99.
What are people saying?
The LEGO Star Wars model boasts a moveable head and hands, features an 8×8 Beskar disk with printed Mudhorn symbol, a satchel with blue milk macaron, a blaster, an information plaque and display stand, plus a recently-updated Grogu figure. The revised take on the fan-favourite character includes more pieces than 2020’s 75318 The Child and a higher price tag, which has result in a fresh look for Grogu and raised a few eyebrows.
“Am I impressed? Not really – this is our third baby Yoda/child/Grogu large-scale model, and it’s getting kind of old. The featured accessories in this set are also a bit ‘Malibu Stacy: Now with NEW hat!’ if I’m being honest…”
Murdoch17, Brickset

However, others are already impressed with the upgrade that the character receives in 75446 Grogu (Mandalorian Apprentice), with minor tweaks and attention to detail resulting in a more accurate appearance. Yet it’s the set’s price that may ultimately prove to be a major sticking point when it comes to those thinking of picking up the LEGO Star Wars build next month, especially as cheaper alternatives already exist.
“People have options now with this Grogu. So, not only are there are couple of other Grogu sets on the market, the real true problem here is the 2020 Grogu. They are effectively the same size build. Over the course of six years, you’re looking at a $50 price increase for 127 more pieces. It is insane.”
MandRproductions
It’s worth noting that 75318 The Child is still available at its original price point from some retailers at the time of this writing, which may mean some fans might opt to purchase the earlier model instead of the new LEGO Star Wars set. Having said that, the enduring popularity of the character is unlikely to deter many shoppers who are simply looking for the latest brick-built take on the cute youngling. – Matt
| 75446 Grogu (Mandalorian Apprentice) pros | 75446 Grogu (Mandalorian Apprentice) cons |
|---|---|
| More accurate design | Hefty price increase over the 2020 version |
| Includes latest Grogu figure | Arms have to be reattached for some display poses |
| Impressive printed Beskar disk | Accessories are not that great |
Our verdict: It’s a fun movie tie-in, but also a concept we’ve seen quite recently and at a much lower price.
75447 The Razor Crest
Theme: Star Wars Price: £139.99 / $149.99 / €149.99 Pieces: 930 Release date: April 26, 2026

The Razor Crest returns in The Mandalorian & Grogu as Disney resurrects yet another thing you probably remember from previous Star Wars adventures. Cue a fresh LEGO version too in 75447 The Razor Crest, our second play-scale take on this ship following 2020’s 75292 The Razor Crest, only this time it’s got some snazzy yellow paint to make sure you know it’s different, actually.
Also different is the size of the set, coming in at only 930 pieces compared to the previous version’s 1,023, and you can see how that plays out in the dimensions of the finished model. It’s a shorter and stubbier Razor Crest, but one that should therefore be a little easier for small hands to swoosh around. It also comes with the first LEGO Star Wars minifigure to feature dual-moulded arms with Zeb Orrelios.
What are people saying?
While we’re looking at a smaller Razor Crest, initial reactions have picked up on its more polished design, thanks largely to six years of design advancements in the interim.
“The updated Razor Crest presents a more refined take on Din Djarin’s ship, with smoother shaping, larger curved elements in the engines, and a noticeably cleaner, less studded exterior than the previous version.”
BrickEconomy

Others agree that the Razor Crest looks better on this second attempt, but it’s at the cost of heft – while the price doesn’t necessarily reflect that change in size.
“I think the proportions of this are much better than the original, and the engines look much better. The problem is that the proportions and the engines both look better because of the lower piece count and smaller size.”
Gothwerx, reddit
Reactions to the minifigure line-up have been relatively lukewarm beyond Zeb, too – we don’t have much of a frame of reference for Colonel Ward yet, while Mando, Grogu and the Stormtrooper are not exactly major pulls all on their own. It’s not difficult to imagine a fair number of LEGO Star Wars fans gravitating to this one just for Zeb, though. – Chris
| 75447 The Razor Crest pros | 75447 The Razor Crest cons |
|---|---|
| More colourful than the last time round | Smaller and squatter than you’d hope |
| Stand-out Zeb minifigure | Another minifigure wouldn’t have gone amiss |
| Polished design | Pretty expensive for what’s in the box |
Our verdict: Falls victim to the LEGO Star Wars downsizing trend, but refines the design in other ways. Wait for a sale either way.
75439 Darth Vader Bust

75439 Darth Vader Bust is the easier recommendation of the two LEGO Star Wars busts debuting in April (just look at Yoda’s face), but is it as good as it looks on the box? Early signs are yes, particularly compared to the stud-heavy affair that is 75304 Darth Vader Helmet. The Sith Lord’s headgear is obviously smaller here to incorporate his full head and shoulders, but that’s allowed smoother, rounded elements to more convincingly capture the shaping of his helmet.
What are people saying?
The first in-hand review of the bust zeroes in on the differences between helmet and bust, which is the easiest and cleanest point of comparison between two LEGO Star Wars subthemes that are quite close in concept and execution.
“I really appreciate the smoothness and lack of gaps on the helmet. They did such a great job filling everything out. I think this one looks so much cleaner than the helmet set specifically because of the lack of studs. The shoulder part of the build on the back side is just all black, [which] looks nice enough, but the front I think looks amazing with these grey stripes. And then you also have the chain which I think looks very good on this Vader bust here.”
MandRproductions

In what you might call direct contrast to 75438 Yoda Bust, other early reactions to Vader have highlighted just how neatly it captures the iconic silhouette of the villain’s helmet and shoulders within a relatively small footprint.
“Accuracy at that scale is quite a feat. Also wheel arches above the eyes really bring it all together. A definite purchase for me.”
willsbuilds28, Instagram
The only real downside to 75439 Darth Vader Bust is that you’re seemingly paying the ‘iconic Star Wars character tax’, given it includes fewer pieces than Yoda but costs more. The quality of the design may just be strong enough for you to swallow the price tag, mind… – Chris
| 75439 Darth Vader Bust pros | 75439 Darth Vader Bust cons |
|---|---|
| Well-crafted rendition of Vader’s helmet | Expensive for what it is |
| Nice colour blocking around the armour | Vader minifigure is a bit ho-hum |
Our verdict: The better of the two busts launching in April is also the more expensive, so do with that what you will.
