LEGO CON 2022 went down well with fans

LEGO CON 2022 is over and the second event dedicated to bricks appears to have been much more popular, judging by reactions on social media.

LEGO CON 2021, the inaugural show, was aimed at a younger audience with more building activities and challenges than set reveals. There’s nothing wrong with that but it meant that the reception from older fans wasn’t entirely positive. The LEGO Group clarified in time for the start of the 2022 event that this was a show for all ages, setting expectations accordingly.

However, LEGO CON 2022 featured plenty of announcements for new themes, sets and more projects. We took to Twitter to see what the initial reactions to the second LEGO CON were like, and it seems that it left people impressed.

Noah highlighted three of the models showcased at the event – 10497 Galaxy Explorer, 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle and 76218 Sanctum Sanctorum – noting the quality of the 2022 range.

Two of those builds are celebrating the 90th anniversary of the LEGO Group, as Jack Joseph also reacted to via a meme, ranking four of the 90th-anniversary sets – 11021 90 Years of Play, 40567 Forest Hideout, 10497 Galaxy Explorer and 10305 Lion Knights’ Castle.

NINJAGO also had a presence at LEGO CON 2022, showing off a trailer for the next part of Crystalized, the latest season from the theme. Twitter user privateduckcall couldn’t contain their excitement for the upcoming episodes.

Unfortunately, not every reaction was a positive one as host and LEGO Dimensions voice actor Joel McHale was keen to ensure those waiting for a sequel that the crossover game isn’t coming back. User LegoCharacters reacted to the news with a heartfelt video expressing their thoughts on the comments from Joel.

Whether you think LEGO CON 2022 was an improvement over the inaugural show, it was certainly filled with more announcements than the 2021 event, and you find a recap of everything that happened by clicking here.
