There could be over 1,000 LEGO stores worldwide in 2024

The LEGO Group’s financial results have revealed that there are now over 900 LEGO stores with a trend toward over 1,000 locations in 2024.

The annual financial results for 2022 have confirmed the top-selling themes, a 12% bump in sales and more statistics from the LEGO Group’s 90th anniversary year of sets and other projects.

On a provided infographic, it has now been officially confirmed that 155 LEGO stores were opened in 2022 around the world. That brings the total of dedicated LEGO retail locations to 904 globally.

Provided 2023 has even two-thirds of this retail expansion, there could be over 1,000 LEGO stores by 2024.

Having over 900 stores is undoubtedly a major milestone for the LEGO Group but taking their presence to four digits may be the next step for the company, provided they can keep their current rate of store expansion.

New LEGO stores confirmed to be opening in 2023 include the Battersea Power Station location in Spring 2023 and one in New Hampshire, though these may not be the last new LEGO stores in 2023, provided 2022 is any indication.

Also revealed in the 2022 financial results was that the LEGO Group is currently on track for 100% sustainable packaging before 2026.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
