LEGO Creator 3-in-1 is built for LEGO 2K Drive

LEGO 2K Drive blends racing with transforming vehicles, customisation and existing themes including Creator – which seems to be built for the title.

As mentioned in our hands-on preview for the upcoming LEGO game, LEGO 2K Drive blends the world of LEGO with an open-world racing game and includes a transition between a boat, a road car and an off-road car in a flurry of bricks.

That’s an interesting concept, but one that the LEGO Group’s portfolio has some familiarity with already. LEGO Creator 3-in-1 sets feature a main model that can be rebuilt using the same pieces into anything from a dinosaur to a speedboat.

While LEGO 2K Drive isn’t subject to the same part selection limitations, Creator 3-in-1 seems to be an ideal match for the new game. With an array of vehicles, some of which are already confirmed for the title, LEGO Creator 3-in-1 has quite a bit of inspiration for the team at Visual Concepts to draw from.

Other sets with suitable alternate builds for the vehicle categories in the game that come to mind include 31127 Street Racer, 31089 Sunset Track Racer and 31123 Off-Road Buggy.

It’s also been confirmed that LEGO Speed Champions and City are also included in the upcoming game, though there may be more themes that have yet to be confirmed. LEGO 2K Drive is launching on May 19 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PC, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and the Nintendo Switch.

LEGO has been a part of my life ever since I was young. It all started when my brother passed down 7657 AT-ST to me. It’s guided me through my early years, through school and eventually through my degree in journalism. I still have all my collection proudly on display, including my many NINJAGO sets, my favourite of all the LEGO Group’s themes. Outside of Brick Fanatics I am an avid gamer and enjoy a good game of Dungeons & Dragons.
