LEGO Death Star GWP used to create a ‘Death Starry Night’

If you managed to get your hands on LEGO Star Wars 40591 Death Star II, here’s a creative way to display it.

While LEGO Star Wars 40591 Death Star II was quick to sell out during the LEGO Group’s May the 4th celebrations, if you did manage to get your hands on the diminutive Death Star, we spotted a creative way of displaying the 289-piece display model. As displayed below, it’s the ideal size to incorporate into LEGO Ideas 21333 Vincent van Gogh – The Starry Night for a Star Wars crossover we never knew we needed.

“That’s no moon!” wrote creator Arts_Myth in the caption of the Reddit post, alongside a picture of their creations. Perched in the top left corner, the Death Star appears ready to shoot down the village that van Gogh is painting, although thankfully the beam is heading in another direction for now.

The builder also explained how they went about incorporating, so you can do it for yourself.

“Replaced the 1x2x1 2/3 four-stud brick holding up the moon with a 1×2 brick with axle hole + 2 1×2 plates, and removed one of the panels of the Death Star and replaced the 2 axle that held that panel with a longer one to attach it through the 1×2 brick,” they wrote. “Also used a 2 axle to hold up the bottom of the Death Star when removed from its stand.”

While LEGO Star Wars 40591 Death Star II may have sold out, you can stay up to date with the ongoing deals over on our dedicated page.
