LEGO designer reveals more realistic box art drawings, including Rock Raiders

Over two years after the collection started, designer George Gilliatt has more LEGO box art reimagined in the real world.

Carrying on his collection of artworks from over two years ago, designer George Gilliatt has shared two more hand-drawn box art recreations that switch the minifigures for people with more realistic proportions.

One of the models subject to a hand-drawn depiction this time is 10194 Emerald Night, with some extra care taken to include more carriages and people further down the station.

The details from the massive train model are all present in the artwork but changed to be what the piece is intended to represent instead, bringing the development of the set full circle.

Not based on a realistic vehicle is the other LEGO set picked for a drawing – 4940 The Granite Grinder from Rock Raiders.

This recreation of the set’s box art is most interesting as Gilliatt has had to be extra imaginative in what various parts of the model are representing, though it’s still undoubtedly the iconic build.

In the gap between these drawings, the designer has revealed another artwork that applied the same concept to the Tahu figure in 11021 90 Years of Play, used as a concept for the unique BIONICLE figure.
