LEGO Education introduces SPIKE Essential

LEGO Education handles the learning side of learning-through-play through various global initiatives – and now the next wave of activities has arrived.

After a couple of teasers hinting at something new coming soon, LEGO Education recently shared all about their new modules. The STEAM (science, technology, engineering, and maths) solution is focused on primary school pupils and is designed to use everyday themes to engage kids in those key areas.

There are five units for children and teachers to explore: Great Adventures, Amazing Amusement Park, Happy Traveler, Crazy Carnival Games, and Quirky Creations. To help engage participants, there are now also four dedicated minifigures: Maria, Daniel, Sofie, and Leo.

The modules are interactive and hands-on. LEGO Education hopes to encourage young students to get more involved in STEAM. The new SPIKE Essential Set includes new motor parts, as well as a 3×3 LED module and a hub that help to engage children’s creativity and tech skills at the same time.

Schools and educators can reach out to the organisation directly to find out more, or pre-order the SPIKE Essential Set right now from the official LEGO Education website in the US, to ship on August 31, or from Raising Robots in the UK. It’s on sale for $274.95 / £277.20.
