LEGO for Adults 10284 FC Barcelona Camp Nou and GWP available now

Surprise: LEGO for Adults 10284 FC Barcelona Camp Nou is now available to purchase online and in-store, with 40485 FC Barcelona Celebration included as a free gift.

The LEGO Group has mostly stepped back from same-day reveals and launches, presumably in an effort to combat leaks, with the majority of its sets listed on LEGO.com as ‘coming soon’ ahead of release. But this gigantic, 5,509-piece tribute to FC Barcelona has bucked the trend by going live on the day of launch, alongside its corresponding gift-with-purchase.

Early adopters of 10284 FC Barcelona Camp Nou will also receive a free copy of 40485 FC Barcelona Celebration, which includes five minifigures dressed in Barca colours and the Font de Canaletes (Canaletas Fountain), where fans gather to celebrate the club’s wins.

You won’t find any minifigures in 10284 FC Barcelona Camp Nou, so that GWP is really your only option for the team’s exclusive torso design. It’s available from September 1-12, or while stocks last, which – given how quickly 10272 Old Trafford – Manchester United’s GWP disappeared from sale last year – likely won’t be for long.

10284 FC Barcelona Camp Nou retails for £299.99 / $349.99 / €329.99, so stumping up the cost with little to no warning is no small feat – but as you can read in our review, it’s one well worth splashing out on, whether you’re a football fan or not.

I like to think of myself as a journalist first, LEGO fan second, but we all know that’s not really the case. Journalism does run through my veins, though, like some kind of weird literary blood – the sort that will no doubt one day lead to a stress-induced heart malfunction. It’s like smoking, only worse. Thankfully, I get to write about LEGO until then.
