LEGO Harry Potter 2027 rumours spark fears Hogwarts is done

The first LEGO Harry Potter 2027 rumours have sparked concerns among Wizarding World fans that the LEGO Group has wrapped up its most detailed Hogwarts yet.

Reports of a new set titled 76483 First year at Hogwarts Castle have surfaced courtesy of Unibricks, and on paper it doesn’t really sound like we’re looking at the next section of the current modular Hogwarts system, which has just expanded dramatically with this summer’s 76473 Hogwarts Castle: East Wing.

The rumoured January 2027 set doesn’t follow the naming conventions of the rest of the series, for instance, while the return to the Philosopher’s Stone also suggests we could be starting from scratch. And while the East Wing completes the silhouette of the school as also seen in 71043 Hogwarts Castle, there are still a couple of major landmarks missing – including the clock tower and astronomy tower.

While we don’t have much to go on at this point beyond the set name and a price tag of $109.99, this rumour still has Potterheads spooked that the LEGO Group is calling time on its ‘most detailed Hogwarts ever’ and starting anew – perhaps with one eye on the Harry Potter TV series coming from HBO towards the end of 2026.

“I will hold judgement until all set names have been leaked… but I fear the recent wave will have come to an end,” ThomasDorlian said on reddit. “And my hope for a Clock Tower or Astronomy tower may have been for naught.”

Some fans are a little more upset at the thought of this Hogwarts system coming to a close, including TehrenBelerhen, who says: “I will be kinda pissed if after all the hype on the biggest and most complete castle ever and they stop because of a new TV show. No need to cancel this to capitalise on that. The amount of LEGO I buy, and this would seriously put me off.”

Since returning to shelves in 2018, the LEGO Harry Potter theme has generally operated in three-year cycles for its modular Hogwarts systems: the first with grey roofs ran from 2018 to 2020; the second with sand green roofs ran from 2021 to 2023; and the current version has been going since 2024.

A reboot in 2027 would therefore fit the established trend, giving new fans the chance to hop aboard and start a fresh collection – but at the expense of those hoping to expand their current castle further.

All hope is not lost, though: some are speculating that 76483 First year at Hogwarts Castle could be a ‘diorama showing multiple scenes from the first movie’, while others have pointed out that it falls roughly into the same price bracket as 76450 Book Nook: Hogwarts Express and 76478 Book Nook: Dumbledore’s Office, so could easily just be a display model along the same lines.

We’ll have to wait for the LEGO Group to officially unveil the next wave of LEGO Harry Potter sets to know for sure, although rumoured set names for the rest of the January wave may also give us a clearer indication, so keep an eye on Brick Fanatics for those as soon as we get them.

In the meantime, there’s apparently at least two more Wizarding World sets still to come in 2026 – a 3,500-piece rendition of the Ministry of Magic and a microscale Hogwarts gift-with-purchase.
