LEGO Icons 10320 Eldorado Fortress has a perfect pirate companion set

There’s already a perfect pirate-based build that would make an ideal companion set to the upcoming LEGO Icons 10320 Eldorado Fortress.

Yet another classic LEGO theme will be resurrected (at least with one set) next month, when 10320 Eldorado Fortress arrives online and in-stores. The 2,509-piece build is a recreation of 6276 Eldorado Fortress, a LEGO Pirates model that was released back in 1989, but it’s one that gets a number of significant upgrades over its predecessor.

The upcoming LEGO Icons set is a treasure trove of details and secrets, from an impressive galleon and working crane to eight updated minifigures and a modular construction. In addition, the LEGO Icons set should also make for an ideal companion model for another buccaneering build – 21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay.

Although part of the LEGO Ideas theme, the 2020 set shares much of the same DNA (and multiple pieces) as 10320 Eldorado Fortress, including some returning minifigure characters. The long-since retired 21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay could be displayed as either a shipwrecked scene or dismantled and rebuilt as a pirate ship with a nod to classic LEGO sets of yesteryear.

Those who were lucky enough to pick up 21322 Pirates of Barracuda Bay before it disappeared for good will soon have the chance to combine it with 10320 Eldorado Fortress for an epic model that truly celebrates the LEGO Group’s pirate past.

LEGO Icons 10320 Eldorado Fortress will be released on July 4 for VIP members, with a wider release on July 7 for everyone else. The 2,509-piece build will be available from LEGO.com and in LEGO Stores, priced at £189.99 / $214.99 / €214.99.
