LEGO Icons Shire piece would be perfect for rumoured Pirates ship

The rumoured LEGO Icons Pirates of the Caribbean: The Black Pearl is just one ship that could use a new piece found in 10354 The Lord of the Rings: The Shire.

LEGO Icons 10354 The Lord of the Rings: The Shire will be available to all Middle-earth fans next week, with the 2,017-piece set having been officially revealed earlier this week. Completing a trilogy of annual Tolkien releases, the model is packed with plenty of detail and comes with a total of nine minifigures.

In addition, 10354 The Lord of the Rings: The Shire also boasts a couple of new elements that should please plenty of builders. For starters, as Johanna from HighTeaToys has mentioned in her video review of the LEGO Icons set, the model includes a selection of 1x2x2 dark green panel pieces with circles in them that are used for Bag End’s distinctive round window frames.

That same 10354 The Lord of the Rings: The Shire part could also be perfect for another potential LEGO Icons 2025 release, the long-rumoured 10365 Pirates of the Caribbean: The Black Pearl. Said to be a 1,502-piece model due to set sail later this summer, the iconic ship from the Disney franchise is just begging for similar portholes, which is where the Bag End element would come in handy.

While portholes have appeared in various LEGO ships over the years, the new piece would seem to be the perfect fit for any such water-based vessels, including 10365 Pirates of the Caribbean: The Black Pearl, if it turns out to be a reality.

The seafaring ship has been recreated in brick-built form in two previous versions, 30130 Mini Black Pearl polybag and 4184 The Black Pearl, both of which sailed into LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean fans’ collections in 2011.

New Elementary has also chimed in regarding another new mould in 10354 The Lord of the Rings: The Shire, one worn by Mrs. Proudfoot. The piece in question is a long tan skirt that could well pop up on possible future minifigures and was included in the LEGO Icons set for a specific reason.

“It’s a little bit of an interesting choice to do a new mould for a side character,” explained LEGO Icons designer Kenyon Brady at a recent fan media day, “but we really felt it helped to fill out this world and to contrast with Rosie’s skirt, which is a new colour. And it’s a little more flowy and dancy because she’s seen dancing in the film.”

In addition, there are 12 recoloured pieces in 10354 The Lord of the Rings: The Shire, printed parts such as the rug in Bag End and cloth banners, plus various stickered elements, many of which could come in handy for alternate Middle-earth MOCs.

Builders will be able to get their hands on all those pieces and more when 10354 The Lord of the Rings: The Shire launches early for Insiders members on April 2 and for everyone else from April 5. The LEGO Icons model is priced at £229.99 / $269.99 / €269.99 and early purchasers can also get a free 40761 The Lord of the Rings: Sméagol and Déagol GWP until April 8, while stocks last.
