LEGO Ideas 15th anniversary top 30 designs revealed

The top 30 designs submitted to the LEGO Ideas 15th anniversary challenge have been revealed, as the announcement day draws near.

To celebrate 15 years since LEGO Ideas first began in 2008 (despite the first set not coming out until 2011), the team has launched a special challenge with a huge range of prizes. It calls for fans to submit designs of sets including the number 15 in some shape or form, which would then move into a fan vote.

Now, the top 30 fan-designed sets have now been selected according to the vote. The next step is for the LEGO Ideas experts to select the strongest submissions based on the criteria described in the challenge brief. The final winner will be announced on December 21. For now, you can check out the top 30 sets here, which include some creative variations around the number 15. That ranges from an oversized minifigure head with symbols from LEGO Ideas exploding out of it to huge buildings shaped like the number 15.

The winner will go home with a truly enormous selection of prizes, including:

  • A three-day two-night trip for two people to Billund, Denmark with a variety of activities and tours including:
    • Two spots on the LEGO Fan Tour. Specific dates in 2024 to be confirmed. The Fan Tour includes tours of:
      • The Billund LEGO factory
      • Ole Kirk Kristiansen’s home (also known as the Idea House)
      • The LEGO House
    • LEGO Campus tour
    • Lunch and “Meet and Greet” with the LEGO Ideas team
  • 15 different LEGO Ideas sets, including 21338 A-Frame Cabin, 21339 BTS Dynamite, 21340 Tales of the Space Age, 21341: Disney Hocus Pocus: The Sanderson Sisters’ Cottage, 21342 The Insect Collection and 21343 Viking Village

I write about all the very best fandoms – and that means LEGO, of course. Spending so much time looking at and talking about LEGO sets is dangerous for my bank balance, but the LEGO shelves are thriving. You win some, you lose some.
