LEGO Technic rumoured to feature a Formula 1 polybag in 2024
Online rumours reveal that LEGO Technic could be getting a Formula 1 polybag in 2024, following in the tyre tracks of two other LEGO sets from separate themes.
2024 is already rumoured to see the release of two LEGO sets centred around McLaren Formula 1, one under the Speed Champions banner, and another under LEGO Icons. Now, Instagram user exabrickslegogo_ reports that LEGO Technic will also be joining in the fun, with a rumoured polybag of 30683 McLaren F1 Car Polybag.
All three of these rumoured LEGO sets would join the existing LEGO Technic 42141 McLaren Formula 1 Race Car. There’s no telling which version of the Formula 1 team’s race-ready car would provide the inspiration, with the engineers tweaking and updating the design every year. That means 2023’s vehicle looked different even from the relatively recent release of 42141 McLaren Formula 1 Race Car back in March 2023.

Clearly, the LEGO Group has a big team-up with McLaren planned for 2024, with upcoming sets in LEGO Icons, Speed Champions, and Technic. With three products released within the same year, it’s got us wondering what each set will bring to the table. Naturally, LEGO Speed Champions is likely to be a theme-appropriate sized car to match the other sets in the theme, while LEGO Icons provides an opportunity to do a larger, more detailed set, perhaps similar to 10321 Chevrolet Corvette 1961.
Meanwhile, the aforementioned LEGO Technic polybag could either be an even tinier car than the LEGO Speed Champions one or some other mini-build relating to Formula 1, like a tiny pit stop, race car driver, or other trapping from the grid.
