Rumoured sub-theme will unite LEGO City and Friends in 2024
LEGO City and Friends are rumoured to share a sub-theme in 2024, believed to be uniting the two themes together.
Not only is Space shaping up to have a presence across multiple themes next year, LEGO City and Friends are now rumoured to share a sub-theme in 2024, according to rumours spotted by reliable Instagram user 1414FalconFan. Believed to be a jungle sub-theme, it’s also reported that it will include some new moulds.
Presumably, this could easily see some fresh animal moulds, seeing as the sub-theme would be set in the jungle. From big cats and monkeys to snakes and other reptiles, there’s certainly enough creative fodder from the jungle animal kingdom to create a number of new elements.
This isn’t the first time that the LEGO Group has journeyed into the jungle. LEGO City has already had some jungle-themed sets, such as 60161 Jungle Exploration Site back in 2017, while the old LEGO Friends gang also had some jungle adventures back in 2020, with sets like 41432 Alpaca Mountain Jungle Rescue.

While LEGO City took a more realistic approach to the jungle, LEGO Friends introduced plenty of its signature bright colours, even using stickers on water for extra effect. It’ll be interesting to see how much is shared across the two themes, each with its own distinctive style, or whether the shared sub-theme will merely bring together two different approaches to the same prompt.
Either way, take all of this with a pinch of salt for now, until we get official confirmation that such a sub-theme is indeed on its way.
