LEGO Ideas ’90s Throwback fan vote delayed by one week
The LEGO Ideas team has delayed the fan vote on an upcoming challenge, meaning we’ll need to wait a little longer to see some nostalgic finalists.
Today was originally meant to be the reveal of the five finalists for the second LEGO Ideas ’90s challenge, titled The Next Chapter. However, LEGO Ideas has now said that the fan vote will open on March 17, rather than March 10.
“The final list for the 90s Throwback – The Next Chapter! Fan Vote is not quite ready yet,” reads the announcement from the LEGO Ideas team. “We need more time, and the fan vote will now start March 17.”
A further message says that ‘our experts are picking their favourites’, suggesting that the decision-making process has been especially tricky this time around – or at least is taking longer than expected. Considering that this challenge is all about third-party IPs, it could be that early negotiations with other companies could be slowing things down, but that’s just speculation.
You’ll be able to vote on your favourite of the five finalists from March 17, with the winner of the fan vote becoming a real LEGO Ideas set. There are currently 271 builds hoping to make it into the fan vote. In the meantime, check out our predictions here.
If you’re really in the mood to get involved in a LEGO Ideas challenge, there’s still time to take part in Build Your Brick Story and just four days left on Get Fresh For Feb.
